For the 50th anniversary of the Four Hills Tournament the famous Bergisel ski stadium  got a completely new design.

With total costs of about 12 million EUR the Bergisel ski stadium was totally modernised. At the express request of the city administration of Innsbruck an internationl evaluation procedure was launched, to which six internationally renowned architects were invited. Among the submitted projects the expert jury chose unanimously the proposal of  Zaha Hadid’s London-based archicectural design firm. In several construction stages the stadium received a new look. Apart from the futuristic design of the start tower and an adaption of the landing profiles a lift facility and a mat support were established.

The Bergisel ski stadium has become famous for its unique design and the countless ski jump events. The impressive location near the city centre allows its visitors an excellent panoramic view of the city and its surrounding mountains.
